What's up guys,

Just completed our first Helium music video.

We came up with the concept, shot, and edited this video in 48 hours.

Would love your thoughts and feed back!

Thanks!

Looks nice, I definitely love the lighting!

Awesome work Giovanny. How did you find it shooting at the Salton Sea? Considering shooting a feature out there next year, but I'm worried about the obvious production obstacles.

Thanks!

It was very run and gun. We shot without permits, and set up basecamp next to one of our cars that was parked in one of the abandoned lots. We essentially used the car as a generator to charge batteries throughout the day, and at night we plugged our lights into it as well.

Honestly, depending on your budget and how you decide to approach your production, filming a feature at the Salton Sea is totally doable. There's a rest stop about 15 minutes away that has gas, and a food court with places like Subway and El Pollo Loco.

If you get a honeywagon with porta-johns and a space for hair and make up I'd say you're golden.

My only bit of advice would be to avoid filming there in the summer. We shot another project there back in July and it was 112 degrees out. Everyone was miserable and it caused all kinds of problems on set.

We shot this project there last month and it was a breezy 72 degrees the entire time.

Thanks so much for the info, super, super helpful.
