  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cars, whats everyone rolling in?

Here is what I roll. Vintage Marin Titanium. Made in the USA.

I was looking at the Element to replace my van at some point. My van has a 6 cylinder engine and gets surprisingly good gas mileage for, well, a full size van. But it's way more than I need at this point. And with only 75K I can still get some money for it.

But it seems as if Honda will discontinue the Element after 2011. Anyone driving a Honda CRV?

You're not gonna find any other SUV with the cargo capacity of the Element. Mine usually has the back seats out which leaves a big box on wheels with a nice low load height. I carry 10 cases and a magliner with ease. The same load used to be super tight in my 4Runner and it doesn't even block the windows in the Element. My wife thinks I should get another one now that they're discontinuing but I've been carrying even MORE gear lately and will move to a minivan.

OK, so I'm crazy, but for small shoots everything fits in here. There is a lot of room in the back. I get the RED MX with all extras, Matte Box, FF, Batteries, etc., a lens case with 10 lenses, filters, etc., sticks and O'Connor 50D, Hi Hat, 2 softboxes, 1 IK MR Fresnel, 2 umbrellas, 2 MR nooklights, 5 stands, one a C-stand, a small mike and boom kit, extension cords, etc. all in and I can carry a passenger. It's a 6 speed, of course, and I really love it. For larger shoots it's a rented grip and lighting truck of course.

2006 Boxster S for talking, 1995 Suburban 1500 for hauling gear...

Miata. I want a Smart car. I'd love to drive a Messerschmitt KR200 or the new BMW Isetta. I like vehicles I can wear or carry around on my back if they break down. The smaller the better.

2002 Subaru Outback Sport. I can fit an insane amount of gear inside the hatchback for such a small car, with good gas milage, and the AWD is a major plus in all this Utah snow.

I ran into Mark and Jeremy in Santa Monica recently with their Arcimoto! We talked for a few minutes and they agreed with me that the auto industry is ready for a revolution.

Arcimoto is all electric, three wheels, Est. $17,500.

Here is what they are doing:

This is their "Tron" version but I believe the production version will have bodywork.

Thanks Christopher. Now if only Honda would make an Element Hybrid that would get 45-50 mpg! It would the perfect delivery/cargo vehicle and would be great for what I need.

I'm on a downsize/upgrade path and see the value in lean & mean efficiency.

And EPIC fits nicely into that plan.. less is more than just more. I want flexibility, mobility, cost effective. My vehicle needs to be that too.

Very nice. I got to ride a '51 Vincent Black Shadow a couple of months back. It was part of our shoot. Much fun, sounded great. And this one was easy to start...
