  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cars, whats everyone rolling in?

2002 Honda Accord with one of those camper things on the roof, many scratches and even some graffitti on it for shoots. I deliberately leave garbage on the floor, so no one would ever think there is valuable gear inside. We also often rent an extremely crappy 10x10 white rusty truck or two for larger shoots.

Day to day mostly subway/walk as we live and work downtown.

I find it cool that most people here seem to have zero ego tied up in their cars - they just drive what's most practical. I'd much rather have one more lens or joker bug that some flashy ride that loses value daily.

My car and truck are kind of like me. Older, but in great shape, well maintained, and a lot of fun.

Nice! Is that a Cache-A in there I see?

Yes its a Cache-A LTO 4. The van has an 12500 btu aircon since we have tropical climate here. Very convenient to work in with a second space for producer, production manager or even editor, whatever is needed.

08 Honda Accord - I've fit 2x Arri 4 light kits, complete Red setup, and Oconnor head and sticks. No passengers of course!

Honda Element

'88 Ford 250Ext Econoline Van with low miles. And of course, it's red.

Well...

Daily is my Wife's '05 EB Expedition. Carries insane amount of gear and people/crew.

My shooting/scout vehicle is a semi-prep'd '95 Land Rover LWB Range Rover Classic

(Pic to follow if you are interested :) )

I also own 2 Land Rover "Classics", that I would be happy to make available for your next film/music video or project :)

I was looking at the Element to replace my van at some point. My van has a 6 cylinder engine and gets surprisingly good gas mileage for, well, a full size van. But it's way more than I need at this point. And with only 75K I can still get some money for it.

But it seems as if Honda will discontinue the Element after 2011. Anyone driving a Honda CRV?

hehe u would think thats the case with my car, but look in the rear and ive got no rear seats, a newly finished interior that i just did myself with a ton of room for gear, check it out :) - yes the car has a roll cage hehe

u might think that roll bar would be annoying but it works as a perfect stabilizer to stop my comp tower from flying forward haha.

i reckon ive got about the same amount of space as a small suv in the back there.

oh and mk1 rabbits are only gaining value :driving:

I bought a new 1984 Rabbit GTI and it was amazing fun to drive. And you're right, there's a lot of room in the back. I used to play bass guitar with a band back then and it fit my bass amp rig easily.

My last car was an 86 golf. That thing had an absurd amount of cargo capacity. Haha, we even fit 8 people in once. And the rear hatch is nice and wide. Problem with a lot of hatchbacks is that they have a lot of room but no means of getting something big into them.
