  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Carbon remote head from the running rig

Been watching this thread from the start, but thought that I would add my input. And my first actual post on this site after keeping an eye on it for some time.

I'm actually the person from Australia who has bought the first CF Remote Head from Constantine Tirintzis, and have been watching the progress of the design and construction from the beginning. Now that it's coming closer to having it shipped, actually quite interested to see it - but very satisfied from the images which I've seen.

The head itself is to be mounted to, and integrated with a remote control camera rail system which I'm currently working on. For a demo have a look at...

...Please note that the video was shot inside a shearing shed, which with the corrugated iron doesn't do the sound any justice. Depending on the speed, the power vs noise ratio is not bad. Once the head is here, the only major stage left to finish is the electronics which are currently being looked at.

It's not meant for motion control, but for live OB style usage.

Any input would be appreciated...either here or via andrew.fraser@hudorvisual.com.au

Kuper 2001 Kicks ass for Real ...

SO MORE NEWS.
I have decided to go with Kuper controls.
Iam looking at the Kuper dat
I have all details for it which is great the best, and I will be talking to Joe from Kuper controls on Monday to make final decision.
So these is the best and I made this decision as I want the best performance I can get out of it as well as the very cool features and easy enviroment of Kuper controls.
Stay tuned for more updates or pm me for details of the system
Thanks

Hey just a quick popping by to tell you there is a small video showing the tilt action on the carbon head controlled from my speed controller and Jimmy jib motor with a rocker zoom style joystick .
Nothing to do with Moco just a simple remote operation.
Was able to do 360 degrees in 5 minutes( not in video) so its prety good for long lenses
and max speed of 140 degrees per sec.
being busy with the moco stuff and the head for moco is changing.
anyway have a look at my video section
take care all

Hello Neals. All you need is a laptop to connect.
But here is this thing with the motor power supplies.
You need to either have a small generator , or get a combination of batteries, which I curently looking at at the moment for remote locations.
But safest way is a generator.
For this system that is.
Thanks

The saturation setting in Red Alert! has a default of 1 which is not very colorful I tend to set it at 1.3 for normal shooting. To accentuate the color shift happening with the filters I punched that up to 2, it's highest setting. The point being that it would be very hard to discern the differences in the character of these color shifts otherwise. This is not an "artificial" color boost, this is the Red debayer program being told to decode and express the colors strongly. So no chroma is actually being added.

Hey Constantine,

This is looking very good now. I'm starting to like the design more now for sure. What do you think the estimated pricing is for the complete 3-axis MOCO dolly system?

New changes and big ones.
We go with FLAIR.
UK based nearer to us with full support and loads of hardware to adapt.
Great software and all kind of features for CGI as well as optional reall export XYZ data for virtual set.
And now we have 16 axis not 6.
Thanks

Wow. Interesting new developments. Is FLAIR the same software that Mark Roberts uses?

Yes Gurran the same that is used on Milo and other rigs.
Iam going to UK on the 5th for tutorial and get certified on the software.
Its a really great product and I have worked very hard for this , pulled some amazing new tricks for gyrostabilisation and Moco working together, and we are all up to it.
Fredrick knows ha ha.
Thanks for the good words.
In 2-3 months.... then it will be here ...

I took the final decision today to order a mocotrol from Constantine! Im very pleased with previous running rig products (HR-1 deluxe) so Im confident that the mocotrol will be nothing more than spectacular :)

hello my website is unavailable at the moment , Iam replacing with a new one which will be partly active in 48 hours and fully active in the next couple of months, as Iam doing this all from the start, so please stay tuned
Thanks
