I have been trying to transcode some footage to ProResHQ but every piece of software I've tried...Clipfinder, RedRushes/Cine/Alert, R3D Manager...either crashes at the start, fails or creates files that are 8KB big. What am I doing wrong?:head_explode:

I shot 4KHD and I'm trying to get 1920x1080 files.

FCP installed on your system?

Graeme

No

No

No, is that why the transcodes are 8KB big?

The download of the prores codec only allows reading prores files. To create them you need FCP installed.

Graeme

Correct. You can only write ProRes if you have FCP installed. You are seeing an empty shell of a file, hence 8k.
