  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

CAN'T MOUNT MEDIA AGAIN!!!!

I’ve had exactly zero issues like this,
windows or Mac but i only copy files off of
the mag and copy LUT files onto it.

I always secure format.

Sorry your having issues.
 
My Raven goes through these fits. I think it’s a software bug as it occurred after a series of updates. Also it cannot be anything else as we have different brains.

Same since High Sierra. Figured this out after a couple mounths, the UDF driver in mac os X is garbage, installed the drivers that sony uses for their UDF cards and haven't had an issue since.

Now if only they would fix their fat32 bugs...

Thanks for the tip!!! Just installed and card mounted to my computer in seconds!
 
This comes up on my new Gemini 1/5 times. Have to reboot to get to mount. No particular pattern. Brand new media, current firmware, always ejected per da rules
 
Reds said this was fixed at least once maybe twice infirmware? It's quite a problem to be silent on and one that makes the Red camera system look unprofessional on sets every day.

I'm surprised this isn't a top priority given trust in media would likely be everyone's top priority as a user of any camera.
 
Ha seriously. My biggest fear is that we shoot some scene that cost $10K and for whatever reason the card didn't capture it. It keeps me up at night. That being said, I only saw this message pop up 1 time on only 1 of our 3 REDs. We use the red color 512GB cards and we use all PC though in the office.
 
I had the same issue with my two cards for a year straight. I ended up getting ride of my 512 minis and updating to the 480 cards. It seems to have fixed the issue. I think I just had bad cards?
 
Yes and is a very complicated things as nobody can’t really understand... but I think I find a solution myself:
When you put the mag in the IMac instead of dragging the files from the mag to the desktop I copy and paste on thr desktop. Then I eject via watchdog and when I put back in camera all is fine.
So... I think the bug is that maybe in the action of dragging the files something is written invisibly on the mag that than has problem to work on camera... the guys at Red have been great and very generous to help, but I would like to hear other people having my same problemif they can try what I said and if works. (Mags of 120GB)
