  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can't install Metafuze 2

In trying to install Metafuze V2 the installer unpacks Avid Metafuze.msi then says that it can't find it. If I then point to it in the browser it again says it can't use it and finally gives the error that the old version cannot be removed contact tech support.
Any ideas out there?

Was this a brand new install, or was there a previous version installed?
 
Michael; it was an install over the older version. We did try to do an uninstall first, which may have been a mistake....
 
Yes - my note saying it was available mentioned that if you read nothing at all, please note that you need to uninstall first. Can you try an unsintall now and see what happens?
 
I had the same problem. If you can't uninstall it you may try to use a third party registry cleaner software. That didn't work for me so I had to log in using my XP administrator account and install it there. That's teh only way I can uninstall and reinstall MF on my machine.
 
Got it, Thanks everyone. The Admin. thing did the trick even though the user level should have worked. Up and running.
