Can somebody, anybody help...... with the issue of importing the r3d files from the Scarlet-w to Fcpx other than using prores ?

Have you updated the camera to the latest firmware? There was an issue with the Scarlet-W at it's release, the latest firmware is supposed to solve those issues. Of course, already shot material on the old firmware can't work, so those need to be transcoded.

I don't think this is a firmware issue. I know that Premiere still can't open Scarlet W r3d footage yet. FCPx might not be updated yet either.

Apple is listing the Scarlet-W as supported in FCPX, along with Weapon 6K and Weapon 8K, no mention of Raven at this point, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204203

Does the camera need updated firmware to be compatible? I've got one on order, hopefully will know from first-hand experience soon.

I downloaded the file SW exampke from red.com but it dosn't work on fcpx yet...There are no updated yet.... Hope will arrive soon before I get my SW....I have imported the 5K exampke file in Redcine and then xpirted in apple pro res....but takes ages like that....

If the ProRes works in Premiere, shoot proxies for Premiere and use DaVinci Resolve for grading and mastering. That is at least a working solution for the time being.

RED Apple workflow installer (beta). I import all of my SCARLET -W R3D's to FCP X. Never use prores.

This.

It is easy to forget to get the latest RED plug-in (FCPX or Adobe) when something changes significantly. RED doesn't seem to make a lot of noise when they become available. My guess is that this will fix it.

I still recommend using the ProRes proxies, much faster editing speeds for critical timeframes and dedicate R3D handling to software that handles it better. If you're not utilizing the dynamic link into After Effects and similar, there's no reason using the R3Ds in Premiere, other than if you have the hardware needed for smooth editing with them, which demands quite the setup.
