Cant get any audio, could it be QT 7.4?

I record a clip open the QT clip on my computer and there is nothing but white (possibly do to QT 7.4?) there is sound (I see it in the "movie inspector") on the QT file but I do not here it. if I make the Movie from Red Alert I get picture but as was talked about on this forum the QT file no longer has sound.

Any info on this?

from what i recall QT 7.4 is a no - no .. do not update to QT 7.4

I did the update before getting the camera. Anyone know how to back it up to 7.3??

You have the QT 7.4 problem indeed. There are some ways to revert to 7.3.x apparently, but it's a hack. Apple did release QT 7.4.1 tonight that we have yet to test....

Thanks! Just needed the confermation, I installed a new system on another drive, Not updating QT, installed Red Code and it works great!

Good to hear Mark. I've tested QT 7.4.1 and it does *NOT* fix this problem... So whatever you do stay with 7.3!

First, get rid of the receipt in library/receipts, then Check out:

I think I might have a clue and hopefully it will help you with the fix.

A friend just bought a laptop and it of course has the latest version of QT so i was expecting it not to work with the RED QuickTime's from the camera, but to my amazement it worked fine, Audio and all! So the actor who knows nothing about the post process says maybe it is because he does not have QT Pro? and i thought wow, that is the major difference here I have Pro and it did not work but this guy has regular old QT and it works fine!

Could it be when you install FCP and it upgrades you to Pro and installs all these other codecs, this is what breaks the Redcode?
