HI,

We have a problem here.
We have 5 clips on a Red drive that can't be copied on the computer for backup.
The copy start, then at the middle the system says that can't complete.

The clips are totally readable in through the camera.

We could "save" them by exporting in DPX directly from the Red drive but we don't want to loose the raw REDCODE.

Thanks for help

Cedric

Hello guys,

I had the same problem again, the clip is readable in the camera (trough the lcd) but can't copy it on other drive

grrrrrrrrrr

Maybe you could try Redcine-X, trim each end by one frame, and export as a very slightly trimmed file. If Redcine-X can read it off the Red drive, then maybe it can reconstruct the damaged file to some extent? Just a suggestion. Let us know if it works!

I had the same problem a while back when trying to copy files off the drive connected to a PC running Windows Vista. I ejected the drive, drove home and hooked the drive to a PC running Windows 7 -- and the files copied over without problems.

Definitely try redundead on the media. It sounds like the filesystem got trashed.

i tried so many things...
We also tried to record from the camera (HDMI) in a KIPRO AJA recorder, crash always at the same moment
the very strange part of the story is that i can read the all clip simply by open it from the red drive in red cine or the .mov in mpeg streamclip !!
but if i try to export it..... always the same

bloody strange

If no go, try rsync in the terminal for a low level copy. Should work with FAT drives.
