Just venting....

Canon sucks. Not bad cameras. Their "~Cinema" customer service will not answer simple and direct questions.

I asked them about....

-Getting accurate exposure in realtime on the 1D-C... they said I could get "fairly accurate" exposure from viewing the screen.... I said, no "accurate exposure".... they remained silent.
-Is there detailed information on how C-Log is implemented on the 1D-C (similar to the C300 white papers, but for the 1D-C as it is a different sensor and tech than the C300)... they remained silent

They have replied numerous times, and usually quite quickly, but they will not answer those two questions, regardless of whether I don't add any other comments, or go into great detail. The only times they do not reply, is when I only ask those two questions directly.
Spent over a week of back and forth emails. They some how got the idea that I didn't understand using log, and kept telling me the grey point is changed.... I know! That's practically in the advertising material! We all know that.

Just venting. And if anyone says anything about how these big companies make products that work and have great customer support.... Well, they don't. Canon Cinema Sucks.

Shouldn't this be posted over at the Canon forums?

You do realize that all those support people you are asking questions of probably have never actually used one of these cameras, right? They exist to answer the truly basic questions like, how do I charge my battery? Or how do I format my memory card?

Your question of accurate exposure is not so simple and direct. There are other resources out there in the form of video tutorials and camera workshops that address issues like that. Accurate exposure is also something that is subjective and relative to the subject and environment. Add to that, the 1DC is somewhat of a bear to shoot with. But that's just my opinion, I've only shot with one very little over the course of two days.

Seeing as they have a small cinema line up and expert cinema support, I assumed they should know something about the four cameras they have.

I am looking for some forum that canon is active on. Sorry about this. I misread the title of this forum while I was reading abou the dragon update.

You are right the 1dc is a bear to expose for. I have realized it is because dead accurate exposure looks great, everything else feels digital. I may just embrace the digital like many video cameras before. I am more so disappointed in the so called "cinema support".
