Canon XL2 Lens

Hey just acquired a canon XL2 Lens from a friend whos camera was stolen but all he had left was the lens so it was a gift free of charge.

Question do anyone know if you can use the 20x video lens that comes with the Canon XL2 on the Red one, and if so what is needed to do so. If it can't be used no big deal being I didn't pay for the lens anyway.

That lens is built for a sensor block about 1/6th the size of the RED One's so no, don't think you could ever get anything useful out of putting it on your camera.

Except for perhaps a "peephole" effect lens, if you ever needed that!

Considering the original price of that lens, it is a shame that is not really helpful anymore today.

But considering its downsides (Focus control, outdated IS) you are not really losing much. Sell it on ebay and find something else to buy
