Posting this here rather than eBay because I believe it is the wide angle converter Chris Probst uses with his Kowa anamorphic set. With the 40mm, to make a 32mm. (It is a 0.8X adapter.)

Although I think he had an additional 72mm to 71mm adapter machined.

This is originally for one of Canon's camcorders, but it has very deep threads, which I had machined off to make it compatible with standard 72mm front lenses. The machinist did a clean job.

Imo this is the overall best wide angle converter with 72mm threads. I have tested a lot of them. Works well on the 24mm FD L, etc. without changing infinity focus.

But I wouldn't personally do that because it's HEAVY and I broke a lens that had been recently used to shoot a Best Picture-winning film this way.

Oops.

$100 plus shipping, which is a steal. If you're using it on the Kowa, it sounds like you will need the additional step up ring (71mm to 72mm) mentioned. No idea where to source it. And I can't confirm this is even the same adapter but compare photos and it's pretty clear that it is.

Or it might not be! Anyway, have fun.

It has the rear machined down already for use with standard 72mm threads.

It's not my fault if you break something.
