Shot this short film for the release of the Canon Sumire Primes on the Monstro with the 14mm, 35mm and 85mm.

Canon commissioned us to create a short sports film for the release of their new Sumire Prime Lenses. We decided to tell the life story of (kick)boxer Jemyma Betrian.

- Jemyma is quite aggressive at school because of trouble at home. She discovers boxing as a way to control her temper, which lifts her up to great heights. But before she can participate at the Olympics she has to face one more challenge. -

This film would have been impossible to make without the support of Jemyma's family and friends, who all play a part in the video. It was an incredible experience to capture their true feelings and emotion. Their openness was a true inspiration.

With full technical support from Camalot Amsterdam

I really liked the way they behaved wide open. Nice and soft, but not too soft, very swirly bokeh. The size and build quality are great as well. I don’t like the look of them when you just test them in a lab environment, but when you just take them into the wild plesently unexpected things are starting to happen. At this point I’m also not looking for the “perfect” lens. I’m very much interested in a lens that gives me little sudden suprises once in a while.

Really well done. The only thing that threw me off a bit was the ADR in the beginning.
