Hello everyone ...

i order a canon red mount, so i have ZF zeiss serie (nikon mount) i would like to use with the canon red mount with adapater (nikon to canon), i do this with my canon 5DII and it's work well, but can you confirm that is working with the canon red mount (because of the positive lock system) ... you see what i mean ? THANKS ;)

Sure it will work but why not just buy the Red Nikon mount?

Yeah, seems silly. Get the Optitek Nikon mount for EPIC. It's half the price and no adapters needed which can, and usually do, have issues with collimation. RED is also releasing their own electronic "smart" Nikon mount soon too. Probably in the next two months.

Oh, and we need a real name. "donutsfilms" doesn't qualify. Stop by the Real Names thread in the Recon section to get it fixed.

thanks for your reply,
so, i wait for my epic X and i don't have PL lens ... i think my epic arrive in september and i would like to use my lens at the same time, ready to go ... for a projet ...
The prolock are not available when i order the canon red mount and the nikon mount are not ready too ...

happy to know the prolock is available, :)
can you confirm i can use zeiss ZF (nikon) on the canon red mount ? there are no mecanical problem ? no collimation problem ?

Very interesting about the OptiTek mount, is it available to ship if i order now...any pix you can share. Does it have a rotating locking colar like the RED canon one? I would recommend getting Nikon mount as well cause I have culmination issues in the past using adaptors.

Thank you Stacey that looks good(if I may say so myself:blush5:)

No problem with Zeiss ZFs that I know of and since it's been two years (since the R1 ProLock has come out) I'm pretty sure that I would have heard..
C.H:
ProLock was the first positive locking still mount on RedOne camera when we made it in early 2009 so yes it has locking mechanism that is controlled with the lever rather than collar..
contact me at the email below for details and lead time...

Here is proof that a dumb $19 Canon-Nikon mount works with the electronic Canon mount! We found Ted's Epic + Canon mount sitting in the corner today at REDucation and decided to have some fun with it. ;)

Jacek, that's one heck of a beautiful Nikon mount.
I'd like to purchase one for my Epic, along with a Canon FD mount.

Thanks Eddie
