The title says it all. Anyone holding on to a set thinking of moving them, please get in touch.

Thanks!

Are you prepared to pay 40K for a full set?

I hear this is the going price nowadays...

Never seen any set sell for that. And no, I'm not interested in inflated pricing!

Really? a few years ago a full Set K35s did cost around 6.000,00 USD - 8.000,00 USD...some people are greedy. Those K35´s are simply rehoused FD-Lenses, aren´t they ?!?

Not all of them are rehoused FD's, no. The 18 1.4 for example is not. These are highly sought after lenses...for many reasons.

I bought my set for around £23,000 GBP just over a year ago (Roughly $37,000 USD), but this included the conversion from BNCR to PL and each lens was fully serviced. Everything tends to be much more expensive in the UK too, so I imagine you can probably knock off $9000 dollars for a full set.

Axel, that's actually a common misconception; K35's effectively "Borrowed" the aspherical design of stills glass, but actually the original designs were for cinema and they even won an Academy Award for technical innovation in 1977. From what I understand, there are a few artificial versions floating about that are actually just stills conversions however.

They're beautiful lenses and very much worth experimenting with if you've never had the chance to use them.

Ah, thank you for the info! Because I´m thinking about converting my old FD Set (15mm 2.8, 24mm 1.4, 35mm 2.0, 55mm 1.2, 85mm 1.8) to EOS mount with Ed Mika coversation kits...to use it on my epic..... do you think that´s a good idea? I´m not sure about the 15mm fisheye...

in 2007 I shot a feature-film on those FD-Lenses with an 35mm Adapter from Kinomatik, with a sony HDV Camera.... the lenses that worked best were the 35mm, 55mm and 85mm...
In the cinema we had a 35mm Film copy (cheap from czech, haha, no joke!)
take a look, here´s the trailer:

FD lenses are GREAT. If you think you'll use them, go for it!

Just a friendly reminder... the hunt continues...

Christopher my New Year's wish for you in 2014 is that you finally get your set of K35's.

Did you see that American Hustle was shot on K35s (and a set of Standard Primes).

Her used a K35 zoom for the beach sequence, too.

Happy New Year.
