  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Canon FD mount NO LONGER being made by RED

I only bought it because I can also shoot stills on my Canon Ids MK III with it as I have one of the rare Canon FD-EOS adapters. I actually have a long aluminum plate drilled to shoot with the RED. I also picked up a 500mm f/4.5 L lens. I must stop buying lenses... but you don't see these on eBay very often -- the "L" versions that is.

Bassam: I would not use a mirror lens because of the slow speed (F/ 8 or F/11) and they are usually not as sharp compared to the L lenses.
 
Okay, I'm not quite getting this.
The deadline has past already to buy this adapter, or no?

Also, has any footage been posted that shows some RED FD footage?

Progress is being made. Jon from RED is coming by my office this afternoon and we will be finalizing the last few details based upon the new PL mount. This won't have any real impact to the production schedule of the FD mounts, but assures us that we won't have any surprises.

I will be posting more images a bit later, but for now, its looking really good!

No tests ready to post yet, but I am happy to report that there are no changes based upon the new PL mount!

If I can get another session with a camera before ours (#234) is ready, I will shoot something more interesting other than focus and chip charts to share.

This mount was killed later because you had to remove the collimation mount to use it… … The curios thing was so, that it was produced and used with the awareness of RED for months till Jarred stated that it is voiding the warranty
 
Yeah, I already have this mount but can't use it because of the warranty issue. This is what has driven me to IMS, which at least has a hope of getting certified if P&S get on with it!
 
Please help i am planning to buy a red scarlet can i use a redrockmicro accessories with it ?
