Canon FD 150-600 5.6L Lens. Old rare zoom

I’m selling my Canon FD 150-600 f5.6L zoom. These lenses were made from the mid-80’s to the early-‘90’s (this one was made in 1992). The Canon 150-600 was a favorite of Canon still photographers for sports and wildlife.

The lens is in MINT CONDITION showing a little signs of usage. You can see attrition on handgrip and erased serial number on photos you can see in ebay listing. That`s all cosmetical imperfections. Glass clear and clean, in superb condition, focus ring and zoom regulator move very smooths. Item works perfectly!
Lens supplied with leather front cap, original case with keys, rear lens cap and two WV-LT21 C Mount Adapters. Case condition is excellent, have a little signs of wear. Total weight of lens and case is about 10kg.

My first question to you is why is the serial number erased and second, your feedback is only for items that you have bought which doesn't much of an idea about what kind of seller you are.

1. First the lens owned by a local newspapper agency when my friend worked. Then the business was closed and this lens was decommissioned and bought by me. They erased serial number to prevent identification of it.
2. I shop on ebay from 2005 year. In the main I bought Photo equpment and electronic because it`s cheaper than there in Russia. But it`s very hard to sell such exotic rare lens here in Russia. Of course I have published item on local trade places.
When I started to publish my so expensive first lot on ebay I sent many documents to ebay to verify my identity, billing address (copy of passport, bills and another documents). The ebay verify me and increase my selling limits. In other case there is no chance to put up for sale a lot like this.

Clearly, someone did this for a very specific reason. The question is why?
