  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Canon 7D looks quite Nice

Used the 7D on a pro shoot again today to back up my two Red Ones and provide stills, behind-the-scenes footage and a couple of product video shots.

Got a body overheat warning in the studio after rolling less than two 12 minute takes (interview scenario). 12 minutes is the longest you can roll as it will simply stop after that as it reaches the 4GB file size limit. It also gives you no warning it's going to stop; it just does.

It's got lots of limitations as a video camera, that's for sure. But used correctly within those limitations it can still deliver a reasonable quality image for the price and it definitely has niche applications where it shines.

Cheers,

Paul

Another still shot today on my 7D:

It's definitely a nice camera for taking beautiful photos without breaking the bank (or having to get rid of EF-S lenses if you upgrade from APS-C to full frame like I would have had to, coming from a 40D).

Didn't shoot much video today as there was someone else with a proper video camera doing that.

Cheers,

Paul

I have DIT'd several jobs that have a r1 and a mk2 on the same job. I am purchasing a 7d this week. It is certainly not a primary camera, but undoubtedly usable for specific purposes.
