Hi Red users,
happy NYE.

I have a beautiful Canon 0.05 (Leica screw mount with special lens release, made for Canon 7). I would like to use it with my R1, and I was wondering if any of you had this idea as well.

I also read many times about Leica M lenses on R1.
Does anybody know what kind of adapted we need? Duck tape?

Thanks

Im waiting for a Leica R mount, now for Leica M lens, the FFD is different and to what i know only IMS mount make this possible...

Action products make a Leica R mount, also Doug Underdahl makes one too so Im told.

Don't know about Leica M as they have very short Flange to sensor distance.

Wikpedia has a table of flange to sensor distance and other data data as well as the normal camera reference books.

Paul,

here I am :),

CANON 50mm f/0.95 M39 needs Leica screw m39 to Leica-M adapter and can be used on RED 1 only with IMS for RED1 with IMS Leica-M mount.

Because IMS is not officially RED1 certified mount so you could take your own risk to void RED1 warranty.

0.95 vs. OLPF

0.95 vs. OLPF

I have a beautiful Canon 0.95

Using a f/0.95 lens with the thickness of the OLPF may add some negative spherical aberration, so the results may be a little softer than they would have been on film.

You might be able to use a simple diopter in front of the lens for close ups, rather than focus closer, to add positive spherical aberration to maybe cancel the effect of the OLPF to some extent, try a +1/4 or +1/2 and see if it gets better or worse.

If you do these tests, please post the images so we can see who it turns out. You can also increase the sharpening a little in post.

Frank,

thanks and I really appreciate that you've liked it.

No additional lighting, all was shot at available light indoor (neon or halogen spots)

and outdoor street neon lights, car lights, shop windows lights, etc...

All was shot wide open @ f/0.95 except:

a short part that if you watch more carefully there is at the end when a girl with trolly

passing the shop windows a fast exposure change with stepping down and going back

of aperture/iris just to have a feeling of speed and power of that fastest lens.
