Can you use Canon FD lenses on the R1/Nikon mount using a FD to Nikon adapter?

As long as your FD to Nikon adapter doesn't change the back focus distance, it will work fine. Otherwise your focal measurements will be off.

Without glass (exender )it is highly unlikely. Nikon has longer BF plus "reversed" fit of the FD mount...There was an FD adapter for the R1 but Red pretty much shut it down early on with their approval process. The adapter installation, AFAIK, wasn't for the faint hearted and Red felt it would be too much liability to maintain the warranty coverage for the cameras...

That adapter uses glass and will look terrible. The falange length on FD's is pretty short. It's hard to adapt them to anything else unless you are shooting on a mirror-less system like a NEX or Micro 4/3's.

Jacek aren't you making some cool FD mount for Epic/Scarlet?

Doesn't help with R1 of course...
