Can we use a gif as an avatar

[Brice Ansel]

I was wondering if it was possible to use a gif on RU for an avatar?

It seems working when embeded there. But I had no luck downloading it as an Avatar using the settings section.

I think avatars must be static.

God I hope they keep it that way too. I don't need a bunch of crap moving around on a page I'm trying to glean information from - my attention isn't strong enough to ignore the distraction.

 Fare enough.
Still I thought I saw some avatar moving here.

although you could probably embed it in your signature?

don't get me wrong, i love a good gif, but it would probably get old, real fast...
