  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can we get lens info in the .r3d meta-data?

I just spend 20 minutes using the forum search to find an answer to this, but couldn't. Also, there are no fewer than 4 different RED forum areas that I could post this in!

I have a Scarlet Canon mount. As we know it reports the lens focal length on the touch lcd. Is this recorded in the .r3d file at all? For that matter, is the aperture value recorded in the .r3d, either? I've also checked an .rmd file after it was created, and it doesn't have any of this info.

I'd reeeeeally like to be able to look at a clip in RedcineX (or even better, Premiere) and see what the aperture and focal length of the lens was during that shot!

Thanks for any assistance / comments,
Greg

I think in rcx you choose the meta tab and then you can ad more data you want to se.

One thing i wish to se is the tilt angle of the camera.

Anyone know if the f-stop and focus is in the meta data per frame , and if these data get updated per frame ?
I'm looking into making a lens de-breather plugin for still glass .

Did you guys look at the metadata properties in REDCINE-X PRO? ;)

It is being recorded per frame, but right now the display is for the first frame.

More coming!

Rob, will we ever se the tilt angle of the camera in meta data? There is a 3 axis sensor for this built in as i understand it or was that scraped?

Learned my lesson... I never even thought to click on that settings icon in the meta data panel. Guess since it was right below the general settings button, my brain didn't think it was clickable or something!

I do have a question though... Aperture and focal length are in the meta data properties twice. The first set gives you what was recorded... the 2nd set appears to display a value box that you can type into... what is that for exactly??
