can scarlet X shoot 2.41?

I was wondering if it will be possible to shoot anamorphic like epic and red mx. i only 1.90 in the chart.
maybe with a later upgrade?

jim actually has stated time and time again everything should be shot in 2:1 and that is his preferred format

Well - it is 4K. Cropping in post is a good way to go as you've got some ability to reframe. I'm pretty sure 2:1 was just an in camera crop on RED until 4.5K enabled. Scarlet doesn't have the 4.5K ability from what I can see.

because we cant see this information, yes the epic page shows all ratios, so thats why i guess 2.40 is not possible with Scarlet.

Yes but they disabled the 2.40 ratio mode on the scarlet, to make the Epic more special

but 2.40 mode is only available on Red MX in 4.5k resolution, so isn't it then that they didn't 'disable' it but rather that the Scarlet cannot do 4.5k so obviously then can't do 2.40 or am I missing something
