  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can R3D FILES be SEPARATED ??

Don't rename or delete RDM folders and R3D files. If you have multiple R3D files with the same name it's because the camera splits a single file in different sections, this is called clip spanning and it depends from the weight of the file. On epic if you have a clip smaller than 4 gig you will have one single R3D, bigger you will have multiple R3D with the same name, but it's the same file!
You can delete RMD files (Red Meta Data, they are the look files but do not make confusion with the folder RDM, Red Digital Magazine).

Hm...

1, don't mess with the catalogue structure
2, don't mess with the catalogue structure
3, don't mess with the catalogue structure

Exept from that, your attachment shows the catalogues and one single segmented (because of disk format, so don't kill the segments, please!) long take situated in its corresponding catalogue/directory.

Leave it that way. You may not know why you want it that way today, but as it doesn't take up any more space, just trust me on thisone!

And BTW, don't ever rename the r3d's or any of the files within the catalogue

Cheers!

+ 100. Just levae them as is. You can buy 2 terrabytes for $100. Don't mess with anything.

Will: no need to look out for this. We take care of dealing with these things behind the scenes so you don't have to.

Conrad: that's called trim (not crop) and the way you are describing it is completely incorrect. You always want to use our official trim tools.
