  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can Ipad be a monitor for RED ?

More than just a monitor!

More than just a monitor!

Plus, an ability to generate an EDL to export your rough cuts of proxy vision (from on location) to your main edit system would be great. IPad could also hold all those RED apps... now all in one Folder with the new OS software when it comes out. RED operating manuals, instructional videos, all in the one place. Brilliant!

RED and iPad could be fantastic!

RED and iPad could be fantastic!

Trying to get this thread noticed again so that we collectively apply some pressure to the RED team (as they have so much spare time on their hands) to do an iPad app/ video streaming module for the Epic. This could really be amazing! Come on you lot, chime in.

Fantastic news Jim. After seeing that picture of the Epic with the iPad, I hoped you were looking at doing a proxy module. Seems that you love Apple products too. The proxy module will be a fantastic boon for all video/ cinematographic mediums and you can bet that other companies will soon follow suit to enable this sort of ease of production. I don't shoot features, but as a movie junket shooter for TV, have shot many inspiring famous actors and movie producers/ directors. Including Peter Jackson, who loves RED so he told me and had just returned to Australasia from a visit to your company. He seemed reluctant to say too much about the upcoming Epic, but had a happy glint in his eye. I'm very inspired to hopefully break into the feature market one day, with the help of an Epic. Maybe you and Steve Jobs could get together over coffee?

"u?" You're missing some letters there!

technically yes, if u stream your signal via wi-fi from video village ( doubt any are set up for that yet).

u can monitor the stream from the ipad/ iphone/ laptops via wi-fi (be it via safari or a dedicated app)
