  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can I record only two channels of audio and remap input?

Howdy. Currently with my Scarlet-W, when I've got an audio source going into the Base I/O Expander, it will record to CH3/4, with CH1/2 recording (unused) internal mic audio. Is there any way to record ONLY two channels, and have CH1/2 be recording the external audio source vs. internal mics? Or even JUST record one channel of audio, with that being an external source? It's not a show-stopper as-is, but it's kind of a pain having to eliminate unused channels on every... single... clip when it comes to editing.

Thanks.

You can totally map the external audio to 1&2 just use the dropdown menu inside the audio dialogue. You can put 3&4 to none and it should just create 2 channels.
I have set 3&4 to internal mic so I always have that scratch audio...

Best advice. Too many times have I looked down to realize my wireless hop of a mixdown from sound has run out of batteries. Had to send one too many apology emails to editors haha.

I found a $20 rechargeable 6800mA LiOn battery pack almost exactly the same size as a wireless mic receiver, and it'll run a Lectro SRb for 12 hours continuous:

Be warned that they take about 8-10 hours to recharge. I have never run out of battery power on a wireless camera hop.
