  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Can i leave a Scarlet switch on 24/7???

Sounds like what you need is an industrial IP video camera, not a Scarlet.

I am certainly curious - who would know the answer to that question? I have a few ethereal questions of my own I'd like to ask that person! :001_huh:

I was going to say I knew approximately, but other people have already cottoned onto it. The engineers should have an approximate estimation of this of the projected design (for given temperatures) given it turns out as planned. I think you might run into problems, given the aggressive nature of the design, days yes, but at high temperatures in another things, or all year.

Apart from security cameras (which have HD these days) industrial cameras can be used. Elphel, that are doing a digital cinema camera project, do IP cameras.

If low light performance is important, then samsung has a camera that will probably beat the pants off the scarlet, uses a special Korean sensor that archives 2000 times 100% QE. Unfortunately I do not know if a HD version is out.

Actually, Wayne. I was being sarcastic. I guess I am not that good at it.

I think Dave caught it!

Many thanks for the constructive reply Wayne. That's the sort of answer i was looking for. If RED can't/won't answer (not that i'm demanding one at all!) then i'd rather a post like yours, than the rest of this junk that has filled 3 pages now!!

Exactly, often we could cut out 90% of posts, and still have room for some objective contemplation.

Sorry, I should have said "days maybe yes". With all the ill health I have been having it is hard to retain everything in mind.
