Can anyone recommend a ladder dolly for the RED?

Hi all. . .

Having messed around with a track dolly on the last film, I'm curious if there might be a ladder dolly system suitable for the RED and a medium-sized fluid head (think O'Connor 1030HDS). SURELY, setting up a ladder dolly must be a lot easier than trying to level all that track with ties and spacers. I'm also thinking of doing some swimming pool shots for the next film which would require a ladder dolly actually in the middle of the pool. (Try that with a track dolly!)

Any thoughts?

I've got the camtram, and I love it! Got it from Abel, they were great!

I've done that with a simple track dolly (can't remember but think it was a focus dolly or similar). Was very effective.

Abel is the exclusive sales agent for the CamTram. The current model is the 2500, which is an extremely versatile system. It can be transported in a small Storm case and sets up in minutes. Think of it as a hihat on wheels but it's really much more than that. It can mount to an extension ladder (available for cheap rental just about anywhere in the world), a countertop, wood beams, pipes, etc. The width is adjustable to fit whatever you're using or wherever you need to squeeze it in. Easier to set up than a conventional track dolly and it can do otherwise impossible shots like floating over a desk. More on our website at abelcine.com.

Wow, that CamTram looks great. . .

Has anyone had any experiences with the less expensive Hague D8 ladder dolly??? It looks less slick than the CamTram, but it is also a lot less money, although functionally appears virtually identical.

So here's the deal. If you want a really superb, portable track made for the CamTram, you must check out the "Track In The Box" @ www.TrackInTheBox.net. In full disclosure, I designed it. The fine folks at CamTram Systems have given me a link from their site to help me get the ball rolling.
