Anybody have a 6 core Mac Pro that can playback 4K at 1/2 resolution in either RedCine Beta or Premiere CC? Is this possible?

My 2010 2.8 4 core with a 5870 does in red cine with open CL. In FCP X without the GPU decode I get 1/4 debayer just fine.

My 2008 2.8 8 core with a 5770 gets close to the same results.

Hmm.

What's your trick?

I'm only getting 1/4 playback in RedCine Beta and Premiere CC with my 2012 MP, 4 core/3.2, 24GB ram, PCI SSD system, PCI SSD media and either the stock 5770 or GTX680 I just got (and didn't do much--I'm about to return it).

Is there a setting somewhere that I haven't flipped?

I am using the latest Beta version, however, I'm not changing anything in the settings--is OpenCL disabled by default?

Alright, back at the computer: OpenCL is enabled (and has been)

I'm switching back and forth between 5770 and GTX680 and see no difference in RedCine [most recent] Beta.

Actually, the 5770 is doing a better job: it can play 1/2 resolution 4K files a second longer than the 680. What am I doing wrong? Should I upgrade the processor to a 6 core?

Is your CPU at 100%? If yes, then your CPU might be the bottleneck. When transcoding 4KHD to FullHD ProRes with RCX Pro beta 21 I get about 26fps at full debayer with a Hackintosh with a six-core 3930K and a GTX580. 1/2 debayer plays back in realtime easily.
