  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Cameras 301-500: Shipping or Stalling?

Anyone confirm if one can now complete there RED payment in advance to assure speedy and prompt delivery? My number is a ways off but I would rather pay sooner then later if possible.

Have fun with your new cameras!

best

As everyone knows, there are hundreds and hundreds of people anxiously awaiting their RED ONE. We sincerely request that people initiate the final payment process once they have gotten the first of their two "prepare for delivery" emails. If everyone in queue for a RED ONE wanted to pay now in one flood, we'd spend all of our time doing Accounting, not shipping cameras. :p

So, wait until you have gotten that first email before you go the final payment route. That being said, if you want to make a payment to RED toward your RED account, you can do that at anytime. That way when final payment time comes, you will have a much smaller amount to settle before delivery.

As far as ensuring speedy delivery... We start shipping cameras within a delivery batch as soon as the second "prepare for delivery" email has gone to the batch. That is when delivery officially starts. So, if you pay in full three months before that or three days before that, you are all in the same "immediate delivery" group once we start shipping. You will be the first people we start processing for that batch. If everyone pays in full beforehand, we will ship as quickly as we can. Note, there is generally a 3-5 business day processing time once final payment is received by RED.

I hope that makes sense. We just need to pace ourselves....

Thank you BC. I didnt mean to start the hysteria machine up again. Every bit of time you guys are putting in is 1000x appreciated by us. We love you all

Alright people, pay and move along. They have more cameras to move and we have to get you out taken care of before they can start on the next batch. Quickly now, quickly. Move along, nothing to see here. NEXT!

Have to say Im dissapointed with Red on this issue.

I sent 4 e-mails to them after my first 'red is almost ready to ship' and heard nothing back. I got the 'updated invoice' e-mail which did address most of my concerns but I replied informing them that my original $1000 depost hadn't been taken off my invoice (a reiteration of my previous mails over a week earlier).

Then I recieve the 'you need to pay up quickly' e-mail, but no reply to my question. Which really made me frustrated. If you don't have the system in place to deal with peoples queries, how can you give them an ultimatum for payment?

I'm still waiting to hear anything before I wire the money. Sorry to be blunt, but it's very frustrating when other people are having their cameras shipped. I'm glad the ultimatum payment date has been pushed back as it will take over a week for the UK wire transfer to happen.

I've also sent 2 emails explaining that I want to pay the small balance due on a credit card but so far no reply from RED and my credit card has not been charged. To my desmay I read that people with higher numbers are geting their camera and here I am patiently waiting for mine. I've contained myself from calling, out of consideration, but I'm afraid I have no other choice.

But did you get the $2500 credit on accessories that was promised long ago for earlier reservation ?

Hey, is there a manual showing how to put this beast together?

What fun would that be?!

Actually, we're working on some videos that we'll post ASAP. You'll find that it's pretty intuitive all in all. Definitely check out the PDF manual online and have fun with the best LEGO cam around!

Thanks for sharing, looking forward to footage, I am right behind you!

EDit. Looks like your dog is thinking "He gets all those boxes, what do I get?"

To say that "the more we are egged on and called" speeds up the process, that confuses me. If each customer calls us (x) times a day to press us, how does that help speed things up? By multiplying by (x) the number of calls and emails that we field, that means the less time we will have to do that other stuff - like get orders out the door. :)

Sorry for the confusion Brent, all I meant was that if you know your numbers up, it doesn't hurt to call and poke around to see if the cams ready for delivery.

I'll give you two perfect examples from first hand experience......

I noticed about 10 or so cams with numbers higher than those of mine already shipped out to customers on the boards. I began to think, hey what's going on? My camera's already payed for and still no camera?

So.....I call the next day and sure enough my camera's instantly prepared for shipment and boom there it is 2 days later.

Same goes for my RED Drive, I notice that quite a few people with numbers far beyond mine have their Drives now and I still don't!

So I call two days ago and they seem to be in stock and ready to ship. (Although I haven't received my tracking number as of yet).

It just seems like you guys need some reminding.

Hey, nobody's perfect and the order of shipments seem a bit out of order, but it's no big deal though as long as the equipment gets out there and into the right hands.

That isn't to say that I don't think you guys are doing a great job. Trust me, I think you guys are doing an amazing job especially for such a small crew and I appreciate every bit of help I've received, especially from you Brent! :weight_lift:
