Camera Shutting Off

Using Bricks. Happens randomly about 4-5 times per day. Camera just shuts off by itself. Nothing is touched or buttons pushed prior to it happening, just random.

Have the same problem with one particular brick - can't see bent pins or any other reason for it... Is it with any brick or just one? Been happening or just started? Mine started after a 210lb. fighter crashed down on me and my camera...

Just curious, do you "slam" the bricks on or "ginger" them into place?

Guess we have to wait until RED upgrades the audio/ipin, lenses, batteries/chargers/etc...

I haven't actually been on set yet for this problem. I am just going from what they have told me so far. But as far as I understand, they have used multiple batteries, half of which are brand new batteries also. The body is new, and worked the first day without that problem. And I usually mount the bricks in a ginger fashion, no slamming of any sort ever goes on with my cameras, if I can help it, : )

Just sent my Red in to check this very problem out...

I had a plethora of random reboots for no reason... sometimes while recording, sometimes while I sat there staring at the machine when nobody was touching it. Did not seem battery related. Anyway... we'll see what the Red tech team finds out soon...

We had numerous "shut-offs" during our first shoot. We were able to download a software fix and install it the same day...

We made it through our shoot okay - it didn't hurt our 10 hour day (thank God!).

We had to send our Red Build 16 back to Red for some other issues as well.

We got it back and it has been working really nicely without any "shut-offs".
