Ive just been seeing a lot on stolen cameras lately ( from all brands, not just RED) . I was going to invest in a small gps, or a couple to attach to my camera body top plate, or maybe just in my pelican case under the foam. Anyway has anyone used this method, or found a good small gps, with real time tracking they can recommend? I'm moving to a new area, and I rather be safe than sorry.

You could place one of those tile sensors in the kit. But you would have to have an idea of where it might be... Or an old iPhone charged up, and use find my iPhone.

most of these GPS are battery powered. They last from 2 weeks to 3 months just depending on which model you buy. You just have to remember to change the batteries every month. An email reminder would work well.

From a similar thread that I started awhile back.

I think that might bring some attention to it when going through an X-ray machine if pack. Maybe even get to hear your name on the airport PA system requesting that you come to security.
Good idea. How long does it last??
