  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi there! I'm new to the Red community and ecosystem. I am getting a Red Raven package with some xtra's and I am wondering what type of insurance you guys and gals have on your cameras. I own a few BM cameras and this sounds weird, but I never felt the need to get insurance on them. Now that I'm spending upwards of 13K I feel the need for a little security. My gear is stored in my apartment so does anyone have suggestions? Like getting renters insurance, etc... Thanks in advance.
 
i was wondering the same thing, as far as i know my renters or home owners insurance never covered professional equipment i use for work.
 
what' it cost a year for a camera pkg approximately?
 
I just chatted with Katherine and was happy to learn that when I send my camera back to RED for the sensor upgrade, the shipment will be covered. Big savings not to have to purchase FEDEX or UPS insurance.

Does anyone have equipment insurance as part of an annual production insurance policy (DICE)? Any reason to keep it separate? Any company recommendations for this?

We do everything at once through Film Emporium, though I do believe they are various policies wrapped into one lump sum.
