Camera hangs during boot up almost evert time

Hi,

Our camera hangs during boot up nearly every time we use it. It started a couple of months ago, at first it was a rare occurrence but it's been getting steadily worst. Now it happens almost every time. We have to keep turning it off and on again until it works.

Considering the amount of time it takes the camera to turn on normally, this extra waiting is driving us crazy.

Does anyone have a solution or reason for this?

We have some problem , camera hangs on booting every 30 time .
On screen after botting............................ nothing .

No it isn't. Solution is to record the .LOG file and send it to RED. Also send me a P.M please as describe what's happening specifically, which build and what accessories you have connected.

Try disconnecting the LCD cable before you boot.
Works for me every time.

How do you record the .LOG file? To what?

1. Turn it off.
2. Disconnect the EVF and LCD cables from the camera body
3. Wait ten seconds
4. Turn it back on.

Reconnect at your leisure. This usually fixes it for me.

when you unmounting the drive or the cf card, the log file is written to the media..... look for the file with the .log extension....

I.e.

Place a CF card in the camera. Go to the SYSTEM / MEDIA menu. Press UNMOUNT. Wait 10 seconds.

Then remove the CF card and look for the file with the extension .LOG.

Then P.M me please and I'll give you an e-mail address to send it to ..

this data will be very valuable to understand what is happening. Once we know that, then we can look at a solution for you.

Mine won't start as well...
Doing the tests right now with trying to unplug etc...
Serial number 454, received it recently though...build 16.
Software version 2008-07-28.

Unplugged the battery cable and now it started...

my camera does not start on first boot most of the time. It has always done that build 17 here

Make sure you don't have an HDMI monitor connected. Mine hangs everytime if it doesn't like the LCD monitor.

My camera continues to hang on boot up. the LCD will blink one sec light on one sec dark. it was doing it this past weekend as well. I've disconnected all peripherals (evf/monitor etc.) and i'm on build 16

please help =)
