  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

hi - my Red Dragon just came back early from a rental with complaints that it froze and would not record when record was pressed. With a little bit of investigating it turns out that they were shooting 25fps in 6K and then went straight to 240fps in 2K without recalibrating the sensor. No doubt such a change in settings would have affected the image if the sensor was not calibrated and surely the calibration warning would have shown up red, but would this have caused the camera to freeze. The AC did a factory reset and all was fine but the producer's was embarrassed in front of the agency and he demanded another camera! Any clues please - about the freeze issue. Its obvious what the producer's problem is!!
 
Save a log and send to Red. It should still contain info even though has been reset.

No, changing resolution and frame rates should not cause it to freeze up. Hopefully there is something in the log file.

If out of calibration, the text would change from green to yellow or red.
