I recently had a job where I needed to shoot 4.5K and crop that down to a 6.4:1 ratio for use on a giant, 8K video wall system (final image size is an upscaled and vertically cropped 7680x1200).
As it was a car shoot, I wanted to make sure I had the right field of view for the client and figured I could use the custom frame guides to set it.
What I ran into is that the frame guide would only let me get down to 4.26:1 and no further (the height wouldn't go below 300px):
If I could have gotten the vertical height down to 200px on the camera I could have achieved my desired 6.4:1 ratio.
Is it possible to remove this (seemingly) arbitrary limit so we are free to choose any ratio we can, no matter how bizarre it may seem?
Here is a 1/8th scale still of the final shot to give you an idea of what I was looking to frame up:
Cheers,
Paul
