  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Camera Firmware + RCX Pro Build 13 beta (includes RED player and Photoshop Plugin )

After upgrading my Epic-X to 30.0.6 I see that 5'' LCD is very subtle flickering.
I haven't seen it in previous 30.0.0 build.
It's not big problem, but image on LCD is now little bit more inquiet.

Did RED decreased refresh rate of LCD?

guys,

Probably a dumb question but what is the RED launcher app. ?

Hi James,

It is a utility app we include that handles some file association magic for us. It determines which application (Player or RCX-Pro) get's an .R3D file when when double clicked for example. You'll never need to use it directly.

Cheers,
David

I need help.. Ever since I updated my RCX Pro to 13 on my 10.6.8 Mac Pro, I get the beachball festival then frozen computer. It happens a couple minutes after boot up. No matter what app I use. Redcine-X Pro, Resolve, or just finder.. I deleted the 13 from the application folder and installed the 12 just to see if it would solve it, but it didn't. Could anyone tell me what I need to delete to completely remove what the 13 may have left on my system?

System Specs:

Mac Pro 3,1
16GB RAM
ATI 4870
16TB RAID
Decklink 3D
CUBIX Box with 1 x RR and 3 x Quadro 4000

Prolly a dumb question, but I'm not understanding the Photoshop plugin. I installed it, but when I launch PS 5 I cannot import R3D's. I must be missing something obvious...

Paul, did you install the new Redcine X? The Photoshop plugin works great over here with CS5. I would guess it could be the launcher app or something else from RCX that you need.

Hey Nook, get AppZapper. You drag the application icon to AppZapper, and AppZapper detects any associated application support files and does a clean delete of everything associated with the application. It's the uninstaller that Apple forgot. http://appzapper.com/

Paul,

First, I'm assuming you're on a Mac. If you're not, could you please private message me here on the board?

Did you happen to move Photoshop CS5 from its default install location of /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5/ ? If that is the case, there is an issue with the installer properly locating the Plug-ins folder for Photoshop. I think i've found a workaround for it for the next release of the plugin. The fix is still being tested internally. For now what you can do is copy the plugin from /Library/Application Support/red/Photoshop Plugin/ into /Path/To/Photoshop/Plug-Ins/File Formats/ folder and it will appear next time you launch Photoshop.

That was the fix. Yes, on a Mac, but the system drive has a custom name so I bet your installer couldn't find the folder.

Cheers

constant crash on use of canceling an export or abort all.

also seems to be stripping audio with hdrx anamorphic footage. will investigate further to confirm.
