Hi,

I was wondering if there will be a beta build or an update to build 30.5 soon.

It seems a tad buggy at times.

Some of the things I have experienced

-16GB cards don't record properly (transients through the image)
-After about reel 12 the numbers start to duplicate?
-Camera seems to run hotter.

Just a few small things with an otherwise pretty stable build.

Depends what you mean by "soon". We always have firmware development in the works.

Brent,

There is only a release build on the site. I was wondering if there is a current BETA build at all?

Are you only going to have release builds on the RED.com site now?

regarding your things you have mentioned above...

So I think it depends what version of hardware is in the camera (what we dont know) and what happens at the shootings with the camera which can impact a lot of different situations.
I made yesterday a side by side test with two MX-cameras with early serials numbers so they should same because serial was n and n+1.
For example when I change the HD-SDI clock speed from 50Hz to 59,94Hz one camera changed immediately and the second needed a reboot. Both are exact same configured.

One problem I see often is the rear record button. Sometimes it seems to be replaced to a better one after MX upgrade but I saw a camera which had this problem persisting after upgrade.
I see also hickups when the cam is genlock synced and you use open gate for example, but i can understand this.

But overall the improvements are great, and in special the new sensor is really a great piece of milestone.
As I see at the Alexa camera, Rolling shutter could be good eliminated in camera processing....

best regards

Is this for MX?

Could you give an example of the 16GB bug?

I have had some issues with the 16GB, but all have showed up as crad-reader problems.

It's horizontal lines at random parts of the frame that show up as green. I can't post a still right now.
