  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Followed the steps in the read me.

Performed step 12: Powered down camera, waited a bit, powered up, now I just get a brief flash of the LCD light, followed by nothing...no power, no activity.

Anyone have a workaround for this?

I'd really prefer not to ship it back to Red & pay God knows what for a fix.

Ok, so here's the issue...very odd & occurs with builds 31 & 32 (sorry, can't the post title):

The camera will not turn on with SmallHD DP4 attached to HDMI (with monitor powered on). If I power off the DP4 (with HDMI cable still attached), the camera boots.

So I guess this thread is just a potential FYI for anyone using a DP4 & Red One!

First issue I've ever had with the One btw...the thing is a tank.
 
I had this exact issue and posted about it a few months ago, but didn't really get a diagnosis.

I have a SmallHD DP4, we swapped out a battery on a shoot, and the camera wouldn't power up for some reason. So we unplugged the HDMI cable and it fired up. Weird little glitch.

Do you also find that the DP4 has trouble finding the signal from the Red One? I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI to get a signal everytime I turn on the DP4, it doesn't read it straight away.

Haven't noticed that yet. I have seen a crazy, green distorted image on occasion when using it with Scarlet. A restart of the monitor seems to make it go away.
 
Hello Ryan, i'm going to upgrade mine to build 32.

Caan you post the readme file or pointing me to it?

I don't find it anymore since Red site was restyled.
