  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Get something with a cover flap. When It comes down to the last few shots and everyone is running around, you don't want stuff falling out of your pouch.

Look at any tool shop. Way cheaper and often way better than anything "made for the film industry".

Most tool belts I have found are open on top for easy access to nails or whatever. I agree with Andy that a pouch with a Velcro cover is much more convenient.

when I used to go out on shoots as a camera tech I wore a finish carpenters bag on a Sam Browne military belt. And as others said, I had a quick release flap sewed over the main pouch so I would not drop my collimator.
Also if your just looking for a leather belt, C.C. Filson of Seattle, Washington makes them in 1.5 and 2" widths. They are the best, and if anything ever did happen to one they will send you a new one, forever. I've had mine for over twenty years and it has no sign of wear to speak of.
