I know you get what you pay for usually and obviously nothings going to be as good as paying full price, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this CAME model "Cinema" tripod?

Normally ignore this stuff but I've read good things from everyone from the CAME/LAING steadicam group buys and such and so figured I'd see if theres any word on this.

Sometimes you get what you pay for and well sometimes you don't..in this case..who knows..if they sold either the legs or the head
separately you could buy one and examine the quality but seems like they don't. Tilta and Lanparte make some nice stuff but this is not them.

Ya I'm a fan of the build quality of Tilta, just never used any CAME stuff. Price is almost low enough for me to try it but just high enough to make me think twice hah

This tripod brand is TRAX ... High quality clone of Sachtler ... We have 3 pcs and have no problem .
Solid quality and work as should with fully equipped Epic ( Lens + battery + cage = total weight about 20 pounds ).

That video is hilarious!

How smooth is the movement on this? I was looking at a Miller Arrow 25 system but if I can save over $3k that would be worth it for the immediate future. I've had good success with knock off still tripod brands, they are just as solid as the European/American counterparts. More money for Dragon upgrade

One other thing - if it gets damaged, likelihood for finding compatible parts may be difficult. For in studio work might be a great option, lugging around from place to place maybe not...

Wanted to update this.

Decided to bite the bullet and order one. It was just as Malk said. Build quality is actually pretty good, except for spacers and some knobs its all metal or fiber. I'd say for $1k I haven't seen another tripod that would match this one in terms of robustness and features. Very smooth movement as well. Wouldn't replace a satchler or anything but its well worth the cost IMO.

Nice! Thanks for the update

Tiffen is just a dealer, or it's part of their business group...

who knows - might even be the same head.

let us know how you like it Arthur.

Thanks, I was not aware of that; I thought they manufactured everything along w/ their filters. Once I sell my 75mm setup I am going to put the money toward this one.

Likely the same end result here...

Anyone try one of these yet?

just saw this so probably doesn't matter now, although I've had 3 Davis & Sanford tripods (not same model so that might matter obviously) and all have fallen apart, regardless of how well I took care of them. This CAME tripod had kept up pretty well with my "Guerrilla" shooting. Although the bag straps have since wripped haha
