Bought a 10bit Samsung U28D590D 4K monitor and it seems like my old equipments are not able to calibrate the display properly. So need to get new device and software. Any recommendations?

If somebody is trying to calibrate the same monitor, after quite a lot of trial and error, got a decent calibration.
Settings in UD28D590
Brightness: 27
Contrast: 68
Sharpness: 50 (or default 60)
Game Mode: Off
SamsungMagicBright: Custom
SamsungMagicAngle: Off
R: 50
B: 50
G: 50
Gamma: Mode 1
Settings in Spyder3Elite 4.0.2
Gamma: 2.2
White Point: 6500K
Brightness: 120
under Advanced settings
Custom target: sRGB or ITU-R Rec. BT.709
Gray Balance Calibration: On
(Tried first "On", and the output was not that good, then changed to "Iterative" which made a big difference, then when running ReCal set back to "On". Not sure whether ReCal takes the previous calibration as an input, and thus, running calibration a couple of this is a key?).
Once checked the REDirect 4K videos in YouTube, they looked neutral and the colors on U28D590D appear even better than on my calibrated MacBook Pro. On the Windows7 desktop the yellows appear bit greenish and the mid blues seem to be bit towards red/magenta. Anybody else having the same monitor feel the same way?

Your post is missing the most important settings: R, G, B, Color Tone and Gamma. It's not a big deal, however, since there's so much variation between units, especially cheap consumer ones, that posting settings is kinda pointless. Copying settings does not result in a calibrated monitor... but it might get you in the ballpark.

Yes, obviously fully agree with you that copying the settings does not help at all. However, with these parameters Spyder3Elite was able to decently calibrate the monitor. Took some time to find proper brightness and contrast settings. Tried also various R,G,B settings, but then came to the conclusion that better to leave them on the default values.
The 4K image itself is impressing, especially the natural sharpness and colour richness of Dragon files is amazing. 4K monitors definitely create a new view on old images.

I've had this monitor for a couple of months. It's got the best TN panel I've ever seen, even though it's still obvious from the viewing angles it is a TN panel. I'm not entirely happy with some of Samsung's decisions when it comes to ergonomics, 4K/60p worked only after Nvidia fixed its drivers, DisplayPort's tiling solution can create odd situations with older software, and Windows 7 is not 100% compatible with such a high DPI display. I'm not ready to switch to Windows 8 yet, however, so one has to take the bad with the good. The image does look gorgeous, and you can get extremely close to perfect Rec.709 when calibrating with a proper probe & ICC management combo.
