C mount glass on Red One with Birger Mount

Hi,
Has anyone got any experience of this? I am looking at using an 16mm Angenieux C mount zoom on my Red One in 2K mode. I have a Birger EF mount and I assumed this would be possible as there are lots of C mount to EF adapters on eBay. On closer inspection they appear to be "macro adapters". Is that code for "this won't focus"? I have seen C mount to EF-M adapters for the Canon mirror-less cameras, is the actual mount the same? If it is, it would make sense that this would be a better fit than the EF right? As the DSLR camera would have clearance issues that the Red One wouldn't. So if the EF-M mount is the same as EF would this allow infinity focus?

My question is, has anybody had any experience of this, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks for the response. In your opinion would the lens be in anyway useable with the EF-M adapter even if it couldn't reach infinity?

First, EF-M and EF and EF-S are different. EF and EFs have different coverage and EF-m has the same coverage as EF-s but different flange length. Meaning it won't focus to infinity on an EF mount.

Birger is by all accounts a great system but not the simplest mod. Especially if you're doing it to use one lens that might work.

So this is what I'd call a long way for a roast beef sandwich. Sure, you might be able to shoot in 2K without focusing to infinity but why not use another proven method that would cost the same and likely do the job better for less hassle. There's lot of discussion on various lens choices on the threads here, probably even one on c-mount. Everything from few hundred dollar options to mortgage your house and sell the family jewels options.

But that's just my two cents. Good luck.
