Buying a used RED from the U.S. and bringing it to EU

Hi!

I'd like to know if there are any downsides or things to watch out for of buying a used RED from the US and bringing it into the EU. Will there be any extra taxes? Customs? I'm planning on buying a Scarlet Dragon in a month and I haven't seen many for sale in Europe so far. There's a chance that I'll be visiting the L.A. area in late may and wouldn't mind picking up a camera while I'm there.

There will be customs duties & VAT to pay on the used price. The only saving is you won't have to pay VAT on the insured shipping.

Contact Red Europe to find out what the customs duty will be on the exact package you intend to buy as it'll vary with the exact components you are buying.

With the dollar beeing so strong now be sure to do your math. Unless to try and succeed to steal it through customs (which I don´t advice!) there will be an import fee and you´ll have to add VAT, also if shipped. You will have to do the transfer of ownership which adds up to the costs.
