Buying a Red One in USA and getting it shipped to India

What is the best way to buy a Red One Camera for using it in India? Does it have to be ordered online and shipped to India? Is it possible to get an idea of how much the customs duty and shipping charges would be as a percentage of the cost of the product - for example if the camera cost is x dollars then the door delivery price would be 1.5x.

You can no longer buy a RED ONE from RED.COM. They ran out.

Check the Gear Sales section and make a post. "WTB RED ONE."

In your post specify that you need the camera shipped to India.

You can probably buy a BT RED ONE body for 4k, then get the gear you need and a lens, maybe 10k total. This is bare bones of course.

Shipping should be around $500 UPS. Have your insurance add the camera before it ships or use UPS insurance, which of course, will cost more.

That should get you started.

Im not so sure its that simple for him Will, most everyone that bought an additional RED 1 BT did so to turn a profit. Most of those that are being sold are a bit more than 4K now. They were a steal at that price. He will be lucky to get one at that price even just the body. But your right about the other criteria IMO

Cost of the camera approx USD 10K
Shipping with insurance approx USD 1K
Customs Duty is 28%
Octroi is 5.5%
Clearing Agent fee is approx Rs. 10,000/-
So effectively it would be 1.45X
