  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 21 - 4.5k Rc28/36/42

would we see more difference between 28/36/42 if there was motion in the frame ?
as in camera, subject or both moving ?

yeah the real issue would be seeing the whole thing in motion as artifacts become apparent much more clearly on a cropped 100% 1080p... you get to see the grains.. and see if there's less compression in the image. a better judgement per se.

Why would motion matter?

AFAIK, Redcode is intra-frame compressed only; it's not dependent on subsequent or previous frames. So I don't see why motion would make any difference?

Because the blur in the frame may look like high frequency detail that is hard on the codec?

Perhaps, but I think blurring something, almost by definition, means lowering its frequency. So I'd think blurs would be easier on a compression codec, not more challenging.

But I could be wrong. I want answers and I want them now!! LOL!
