Build 20, will not record. Pressing record gives a White on-screen REC, no timecode or red text, then camera locks up tight, responds to no button presses. LCD/EVF button presses provide black screen after lock. Must reboot. reboot does not fix.

I read the Read me for B20 over a few times, expected some record display bugs. Its not a display bug. Its a dead stop no worky bug. Here's my environment (I rolled back to B18 to resolve)

Serial 4784
Build 20 upgraded from B17 last night - 6-12 - system worked at the time with reported bugs.
No EVF - its at RED for repair
5.6" LCD
RedRAM - formatted for Build 20 in Build 20
Upgraded using 8GB red branded CF cards, also tried to record ot B20 formatted CF card, no luck
Birger mount with current software, unplugging make no difference
Red brand batteries on quickplate
No other connected accessories
Was shooting 3K 16:9 ramped to 48FPS at 192 sec shutter, prepping for aerial shoot in morning. Did not try recordin at other res/framerates, need it at this one

That's my story.

Update - related to birger/GPIO

Update - related to birger/GPIO

Update -

rolling back to B17 did not resolve. Turns out it IS the Burger cable/GPIO. When Birger is plugged in, pressing record results in the results previous - meaning, no good at all. When Birger is NOT plugged in, all is well, revords fine, direct correlation.

note that all was well with this setup, these cables, until B20 upgrade in controlled environ, so seems unlikely something external changed. B20 upgrade was primary variable. But now, rolling back builds to 18, 17 does not fix the problem. the problem now appears in all builds. Odd.

So, hm. On to the Birger MEGATHREAD. ?

Jay - what's the right GPIO setting?

Jay - what's the right GPIO setting?

Jay just to be 100% clear - what in your understanding are the CORRECT GPIO settings with birger on the upper output port? Assume I care not at all about using GPIO for anything. I am still getting the occasional odd behavior from birger and more REC bugs...even after resetting to where I had then prior.

RED ONE Menu Settings for Birger Mount:

System/ Preferences/ Display: check Lens Data

System/ Set Up/ Remote: check S4i Lens

System/ Preferences/ GPIO:
Input: Recording
Output: Recording
Polarity:
GPIO In: Active Low
GPIO Out: Active Low

...do not forget to activate the Birger Mount :-)
