Hi Everybody. What I loose if I edit a feature shooted with build 20.1.6 with premiere (RED plugin)?

New color science?! What does it mean? I don't have the bebefit of build 20 like less noise in blue channel with tungsten lights!?

Thanks

You're exactly right, if you process your R3Ds in software that doesn't have the new Color Science, you won't have the benefits of build 20 like less noise in the blue channel, especially with tungsten lights, and more accurate skin tones.

The new Color Science is present in:

*RED ALERT! & REDLINE & REDRUSHES (V20.0.1)
*RED ALERT! & REDLINE & REDRUSHES (V20.1.2)
*RED ALERT! & REDLINE & REDRUSHES (V20.1.6)
*BETA RED ALERT! & REDLINE & REDRUSHES (V20.1.8)
*BETA RED ALERT! & REDLINE & REDRUSHES (V21.0.0)

*REDCINE V20.0.0 (BETA)

*REDCODE QUICKTIME CODEC (V3.9.0) (and maybe also V3.8.0 but I'm not sure)

*REDCINE-X and ROCKETCINE-X

*Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c

We are still waiting for Apple and Adobe to catch up.

How ironic that Sony Vegas is the first to support it....

Thanks for the reply. So can you suggest me the best way to edit a feature shooted with build 20.1.6?

I have both Final Cut Studio 2 and Premiere CS4. I love the way CS4 manages R3D files. You can edit the real RAW footage. But how to mantain the benefits from build 20? I have to export from RedCine all the footages? In UNCOMPRESSED?

thanks a lot!
