  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Build 18 Anamorphic Workflow

All right, as of right now, the workflow I'm going to use on an upcoming project is shoot 4k 2:1, edit with the med-res proxies in Final Cut Pro, send the final cut to Color, output the color corrected sequence as 2K ProRes. I've tested it and it worked beautifully.

So here's my question...

I'd really like to shoot with a set of anamorphic lenses but only with build 18 so I can see the correct ratio in the monitor/evf. Will shooting with build 18 / the anamorphic mode cause any problems with the FCP/Color workflow I stated above?
 
Well, you have to desqueeze the footage at some point (build 18 only desqueezes in the monitor). So in the workflow above you'd be editing with squeezed footage.

We shot anamorphic with build 18. Red Rushes works great for transcoding and desqueezing. Red Alert works fine.

It is currently still crashing Red Cine.
